Bossier City's Mayor, Lo Walker and the Mayor of Shreveport, Cedric Glover, will present the Shreveport/Bossier Mayor's Prayer Breakfast this Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 am at the Bossier Civic Center.

This is the 33rd year for the Shreveport/Bossier Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast and the guest speaker is one whose story we all followed closely earlier this year; that of Haughton High head football coach Rodney Guin, who knows a thing or two about defying the odds both on and off the field.

On April 25, 2014, Coach Guin suffered a near-fatal heart attack and the prognosis was grim. However, he credits his faith and prayer for making a miraculous recovery and now back on the sidelines, coaching the Haughton Buccaneers.

The Shreveport/Bossier Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast is the local version of the National Prayer Breakfast held annually in Washington, D.C. The national event was inaugurated in 1952 by leadership groups in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives as a time for spiritual re-dedication of the individual and nation. In keeping with these ideals, a committee of volunteers from Shreveport and Bossier organizes this annual breakfast.

Individual tickets can be purchased at the door for $20.
