Shreveport Police are investigating a shooting call that has left a female fighting for her life.
This call came into dispatch at 11:47 p.m. from the corner of Atkins Street and Cresswell Avenue, which is located in the Highland neighborhood. When first responders arrived on the scene, they located a female inside of a wrecked vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to her body. She has been transported to Ochsner Health hospital by Emergency Medical Services. Her injuries are considered as serious and life-threatening injuries.
Initial reports stated that a female crashed her suv into a parked vehicle. Once EMS approached the vehicle to rescue her, they learned that she was shot. This is an ongoing investigation and no other details are available at this time. We will update when more information becomes available.
