Shreveport Man Arrested For Robbery and Battery

On July 22nd, 2023, around 10:00 a.m. Shreveport Police Officers and Detectives with the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit responded to 4730 Mansfield Road in reference to a robbery with shots fired.

Detectives determined that the suspect entered a convenience store at this location and forcibly took a firearm from the store owner. Witnesses advised that the suspect then fled the scene and fired shots in the air while running to his house half a block from where the incident occurred.

Officers were able to take the suspect into custody and recover the stolen firearm. The suspect physically resisted arrest as officers contacted him but was eventually subdued. The suspect was identified as Demario Henderson (12/09/1994). Henderson was transported to the city jail and charged with one count of Battery of a Police officer, two counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of convicted felon in possession of a firearm, one count of first-degree robbery, one count of resisting with force or violence, one count of escape, and one count of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.
