The civil service exam for police chief of Shreveport was set for May 23rd but that didn't happen. The Civil Service Board has delayed the test date until July 31st.

Here are the 8 candidates who have applied to take the test:

Janice Dailey
Tedris Smith

Applicants must score a 75 or better to be considered for the job.

Some of the current applicants have applied before and have taken the test at least once, but those earlier scores can not be used. Raymond scored a 95, Wayne Smith scored 88, Dailey scored an 86, and Tedris Smith scored a 75.

Alan Crump remains on medical leave and is expected to retire this summer. He scored a 77 on the test when Mayor Ollie Tyler selected him to succeed Willie Shaw.

Mayor Adrian Perkins has put together a seven-member committee to conduct interviews with the candidates.
