In early April 2023, a victim contacted the Shreveport Police Department in reference to a man beating her and causing multiple injuries to her. The victim was able to identify the suspect as Carlton Wheeler (12-20-1993). Wheeler also reportedly produced a gun and threatened the victim. 

Shreveport Police Domestic Abuse Detectives obtained evidence pertaining to the crime and a warrant was issued for the arrest of Wheeler. Wheeler was wanted for one count of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, one count of Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation, three counts of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment, three counts of Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault Child Endangerment Law, one count of Simple Assault, and one count of Theft. 

On May 1st, detectives conducted a warrant search in the 4900 block of Kennedy Drive to locate Wheeler. When officers identified themselves to a female in the residence, she stated that he was not present. The female identified as Consuela Wheeler stated that the suspect was not present and that he had left for work. 

Carlton Wheeler was found hiding in a bedroom closet during the search of the residence. Carlton Wheeler was arrested for his outstanding warrants and Consuela was arrested for one count of Obstruction of Justice. 

We are required to remind that all suspect are innocent until proven guilty.

While Shreveport has continued to release FBI UCR data, Bossier City has not released information since.
