A Shreveport Police officer has been arrested and charged with malfeasance in office. Cpl. Dylan Hudson has been arrested following an investigation into an undisclosed violation.

Hudson was placed on leave back on August 8th while an investigation into his alleged wrongdoing was conducted.

According to a news release sent out by the Police Department,  the investigation discovered "information indicating Hudson possibly violated a criminal statute." At this time, no details about the situation or the alleged criminal violation have been released.

Below is the full statement released by Shreveport Police Chief Ben Raymond:

Corporal Dylan Hudson has been on departmental leave since August 8, 2019, at which time we initiated a criminal investigation into possible violations of state law.  He will remain on leave pending the outcome of an administrative investigation concerning alleged policy violations.  This is an ongoing criminal matter and Corporal Hudson is innocent until proven guilty.  From an administrative standpoint, our officers are accountable for their actions and if he is ultimately found to have violated our policies and procedures then he will be dealt with appropriately.
