
Shreveport’s ‘It’s So Cold Jokes’ Might Be Funniest of All Time
While I'm not certain if the National Weather Service has actually certified this morning's low temperature as the record low for this date, most can testify to its authenticity.

The record low temperature for Shreveport on January 22 was set in 1959 when it was 16 degrees. And, at 7:00 am this morning, the National Weather Service indicated the temperature at the Shreveport Regional Airport was 15 degrees.
I'm not sure how real weather people certify these things, but it would appear to me that 15 is colder than 16, so we have a new record. And it's not a record many of us really enjoy being a part of.
The brutal cold front that has attacked all of the Arklatex and even brought on the first ever "Blizzard Warning" for south Louisiana, is nothing short of painful.
We just aren't prepared for this type of weather. Reports indicate that the city of New Orleans even had to hire snow plows to come in all the way from Indiana to help clear the roads.
So, what do people in Shreveport do when it's this cold? We try to laugh about it. Of course, we stay inside drinking hot coffee, but we try to laugh it off.
