In a report from Innerbody.com we see they did some number crunching after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (C.D.C.) released its latest Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance Report and they developed their list of the Top 100 cities for STD rates and some key trends.
And here's the Top 10:
- Baltimore, Maryland
- Jackson, Mississippi
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- San Francisco, California
- Montgomery, Alabama
- Augusta, Georgia
- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Kileen, Texas
- Shreveport, Louisiana
- Indianapolis, Indiana
Among the trends, Innerbody noted that STD rates continue to run rampant in the South. Nearly half of the top 25 cities with the highest STD rates are in the South.
California led all states with the most cities in the Top 100 with seven cities. Ohio and Texas tied for the second most cities, both of which had six each
The study also noted:
We also noticed that three of the top 10 cities are relatively small (Augusta, GA, Killeen TX, and Shreveport, LA), but share one thing in common: they are home to relatively large military bases.
