Shreveport Daycare Worker Arrested for Cruelty to Juveniles

SHREVEPORT, LA-   A Shreveport daycare worker has been arrested by SPD for cruelty to juvenile.

On June 21st, 2023, Shreveport Police Juvenile Crimes Detectives were contacted regarding concerns about a local daycare worker abusing children inside a facility in the 1500 block of Grigsby Street.

During the investigation, Detectives found that Carneshia Tramiel (6-23-87) worked as an employee of Child’s Play Devolvement Center. Tramiel was accused of allegedly choking a 3-year-old child while working at the daycare. Detectives were able to obtain video footage that led to the arrest of Tamiel for one count of Cruelty to a Juvenile. The child was found to suffer from only minor injuries however the events had the potential to cause serious damage.

Due to the changes in the laws regarding mugshots Tramiel’s booking photo can not be released as Cruelty to a Juvenile is not considered a violent offense. (As defined by LA revised Statue 14:2)
