Shreveport Credit Union To Take Over Local Gas Station As Part of National “Take Back Your Banking”

In a rare moment of unity, community banks and credit unions across the country will partner up as part of “Take Back Your Banking” to raise awareness around how they fuel local economies and encourage local residents to consider taking back their banking from the megabanks.  

As part of this campaign, on Wednesday, August 28, from 9am to 11am, employees of Pelican State Credit Union in Shreveport will be taking over the Texaco gas station at 5909 Youree Drive in Shreveport and personally pumping $20 in FREE gas to the first 200 people and talking to local residents about why they should consider banking with a community bank or credit union.

Pelican State Credit Union is joining nearly 40 other community banks and credit unions across the country to simultaneously take over gas stations across the country in this "Take Back Your Banking" campaign. Other participating cities include: Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, St. Paul and Portland, OR.
