If you thought Tom Cruise jumping on a couch was crazy... wait till you hear this story!  A new report from Vanity Fair magazine alleges that the Church of Scientology auditioned women to be Tom's new wife months before he first stepped out with Katie Holmes.

In the October issue of Vanity Fair, Maureen Orth titles her special report "What Katie Didn't Know:  Marriage, Scientology Style."  Orth says that in 2004, months before Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were ever seen together, the weird church auditioned potential love-interests for Cruise.  It sounds as scripted as Tom's movies.  Potential wives, that included actresses and were preferred to be Scientologists, were asked to come in for an interview to be in a Scientology training video.  Then they were asked their thought on Tom Cruise.  One actress landed the part... Iranian-born Nazanin Boniadi.  She then underwent a month long  preparation that included daily "audits."  Scientologist often employ "auditing" to learn everything there is to know about a person including inner-most secrets and explicit detials of her sex-life.  Orth reports the two were set up for a dinner and were surrounded by "an entourage of Scientology aides."  That's when Boniadi first suspected an "arranged marriage" situation.

The report alleges, among other things, that Boniadi was forced to sign a confidentiality agreement and that she fell in love with the actor but he didn't feel the same way and cruelly told her things like, "I get more love from extras!"  Boniadi even lived at the actor's home for a while before she was relocated to a Florida Scientology center where she broke down and confided her story to a pal and was punished for it.  According to Orth's sources Boniadi was forced to scrub bathrooms with a toothbrush and dig ditches in the middle of the night.

In April 2005, three months after Boniadi was relieved of her duties as girlfriend, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes made her debut on the actor's arm in Europe.

I don't think we'll ever know the full truth about Tom and his Scientology cohorts, but one thing is consistent... the weirdness of the stories that come to light, and the secrecy which they maintain regarding almost every aspect of their stars and operations.

Thank God Katie got out!
