Traffic delays continue on Highway 3 in the Benton area as cleanup continues.

An 18-wheeler hauling a load of sand was involved in a crash on Highway 3 just south of Tubbs Hardware. The big rig has been uprighted as crews work to clear the scene.

Bossier Sheriff's Office deputies are helping State Police with traffic diversion and control. The driver is okay. Crews have been on the scene since the accident around 5 a.m. Friday.

Earlier this morning, both southbound lanes of Highway 3 were completely shut down about 1/2 mile south of Benton High School in order to right the truck and trailer. The driver of the truck is okay.

Southbound traffic on Highway 3 is being diverted onto one of lane of the northbound land. Once past the accident site, all lanes reopen.
