Donate Meals to Ronald McDonald House Shreveport

In case you haven't heard, one of the most wonderful milestones in our community happened recently, the grand opening of the Ronald McDonald House Shreveport-Bossier.

Located right next to Willis-Knighton South, this incredible facility opened its doors to provide a home away from home for families with seriously ill or injured children receiving care at local hospitals. With 20 family suites, daily meals, laundry facilities, and play spaces, it offers comfort, support, and hope, completely free of charge, when families need it most.

While the facility itself is a dream come true, keeping it running smoothly takes a village. Right now, our local Ronald McDonald House needs our help with one of their most vital needs: providing nightly home-cooked meals for resident families.

Providing a hot meal after a long, exhausting day at the hospital is a simple gesture that means the world to these parents.

The team is currently looking for local groups, churches, civic clubs, families, or individuals willing to commit to cooking dinner just once a month (or even every other month!).

If you or a group you're part of would like to step up for the "Meals from the Heart" program, here are a few quick guidelines to keep in mind:

Group Size: Plan to prepare a meal for roughly 30 to 40 people. (It’s always best to call the House a day or two prior to confirm the exact count!)

Menu Balance: A complete dinner includes a main dish, 1 to 2 sides, bread, and a dessert.

Skip the Pasta: Families tend to get a lot of spaghetti and lasagna, so creative, non-pasta dishes are deeply appreciated!

Allergies: You don't need to stress over dietary restrictions—families manage their own individual allergies.

Whether you sign up with your Sunday school class, your coworker group, or your family, your time in the kitchen directly blesses local families during their hardest days.
