Rhino Coffee South Announces Final Day of Operation in Shreveport
It’s the news no Shreveport caffeine lover wanted to hear. Rhino Coffee South has officially announced it will be closing its doors, with its final day of operation set for April 5th.
For the past few years, the South location has been more than just a place to grab a latte; it’s been a community hub for live concerts, 5Ks, and countless Saturday morning donuts.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, the Rhino team praised staff members Kelsey, Kayla, and the entire crew for leading the shop like "ol’ pros" through the challenges of opening and maintaining the vibrant spot.
While the loss of the South location leaves a hole in the neighborhood, there is a silver lining. The baristas you know and love aren't going far, they are being relocated to the Uptown and Downtown shops, both of which remain fully operational.
The Coffee Landscape is Shifting
The departure of Rhino South comes at a bittersweet time for the local caffeine scene. While we say goodbye to this hangout, the "coffee resurgence" in Shreveport-Bossier is still in full swing. With the rapid expansion of 7 Brew and the buzz surrounding the new Dutch Bros locations, coffee clearly still rules the world in Northwest Louisiana.
As for what will take over the space at Rhino South? That remains a mystery for now.
The Bottom Line: You have until April 5th to grab one last brew at the South location. Stop by, snag a donut, and give the crew a high-five for a job well done.
