Reported Drive-By Shooting In Bossier City Injures Child
There has been a report of a shooting in Bossier City this afternoon that has left at least one child injured.
According to witnesses and live video from the Love Shreveport-Bossier social media account, the shooting took place in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday, May 7th, at the North Park Apartments in the 2500 block of Montgomery Lane in Bossier City. The live stream online included information that reportedly came from Bossier City Police, which said:
"Bossier City Police Department units are currently working a drive-by here on the 2500 Macgomery. Several subjects were sitting on the porch here, when will shots rang out striking, or grazing, a seven-year-old child. That child was grazed in the head. That child has since been transported to Ochsner LSU Hospital to be treated. Appeared to be fine Bossier PIO (Sgt. Bart) Cavanaugh said"
The reported shooting took place in an apartment complex just off Benton Road in Bossier City's Old Green Acres Neighborhood. Less than two block away from Plantation Park Elementary School.
Last weekend a Shreveport child was struck and killed during a rolling gun battle on Fairfield Avenue in Shreveport. On Sunday, 13-year-old Landry Anglin was struck by a bullet while inside a home. She was the 21st child or teen shot in Shreveport since the start of 2021.
