The Resilient House, an upscale drug rehab center, has one final hurdle to clear before being able to open up in west Shreveport. The facility needs to get final approval from the city council to rezone the property.

However, people who live near the Steeple Chase neighborhood have been actively trying to prevent the center from opening. The community is gathering signatures for a petition to convince the council not approve the center.

The Resilient House has the support of mayor Ollie Tyler and several other community leaders. The council is expected to vote on the matter July 11th.
