Register to Vote This Week at Area Libraries

The election is a month and a half away and voter registration efforts are going on across the country. In Caddo Parish, you can register to vote this week at several branches of Shreve Memorial Library.

You do need to bring your ID and some proof of residency in the parish, such as your water or electric bill.

Here are the dates and library branches involved in this week's voter registration drive:

Monday, Sept. 21:

Atkins Branch, 3704 Greenwood Road, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
West Shreveport Branch, 4380 Pines Road, noon-2 p.m.
Hamilton/South Caddo Branch, 2111 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 22:

Wallette Branch, 363 Hearne Ave., 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Hollywood/Union Avenue Branch, 2105 Hollywood Ave., noon-2 p.m.
Mooretown Branch, 4360 Hollywood Ave., 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 23:

North Caddo Branch, 615 N. Pine St. in Vivian, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
North Shreveport Branch, 4844 N. Market St., noon-2 p.m.
David Raines Branch, 2855 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
The deadline to register online to vote is Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
The deadline for registering by mail to vote is (postmarked by) Monday, October 5, 2020.
The deadline to register in person to vote is Monday, October 5, 2020.
