Sports rivalry isn't anything new.  Consider the Cowboys and Redskins. New Orleans and Atlanta.  The Lakers and.....anyone else in the NBA.  I've often wondered if Cain wasn't actually a Packers fan and Able just happened to love the Vikings.  Rivalries go back that far.  And for the most part they're healthy.  We all need someone to LOVE...and to keep balance...someone to HATE.  But Rangers and Cardinals?

No real rivalry...except right now.  The eve of what could be the Rangers first World Series Championship.  The stage is set.  Game 6 is tomorrow night and our Rangers could do what they've never done before.  The best part is that the games; well, all of them except Game 4 when the Cardinals spanked the Rangers like red headed step children; have all been INCREDIBLE!  We've never really known how any of them would end until the final out.  Just the way baseball was meant to be.  Or was it?  I mean...no trash talking?  No bad mouthing the other team?  Nothing reminiscent of an Ali "float like a butterfly" "in your face" stare down?Nope.  None of that.  It feels like something's missing.  Kind of like eating mashed potatoes without gravy.  It certainly doesn't reek of the greatest rivalry of all.  The Boston Red Sox  and New York Yankees.  Now THAT is HATRED...pure, unadulterated, I wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire, total disdain.  And the fans of both teams are worse than any of the players.  Check out this commercial for New Era and see if you don't agree.  Hey, there's something to be said for "passion"!!!
