This week, Joe Burrow will try to do the same thing he's done every year since relocating to Baton Rouge...make history.

When Burrow bolted from a school up north, he found a second home at LSU. Then LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron brought Burrow in to compete for the starting quarterback job in 2018. A job that Burrow ended up winning, and never looked back.

His first year for the Tigers, Burrow through for 2,894 yards and 16 touchdowns. He did have 5 interceptions that season to go with the passing totals. He also ran for 399 yards and 7 touchdowns as well. He helped carry the Tigers to a 10-3 record, and a win over UCF in the Fiesta Bowl.

But by his final season, Joe Burrow had grown into the best quarterback in the nation.

In 2019, Burrow threw for 5,671 yards and a then record 60 touchdowns. All of that against just 6 interceptions. He also ran for 368 yards and another 5 touchdowns. Not only that, but Burrow won the Heisman Trophy that season. But maybe it's what he did after the season that will forever live in the hearts of LSU fans.

Even though beating Alabama..IN Alabama, is a big deal, the College Football Playoff performance of Burrow will rank as one of the greatest feats in LSU history for a long time. In the first round, Burrow's Tigers put up 63 points on Oklahoma, before taking down Clemson in the Championship game. In that game, they put 42 up against Clemson.

Burrow threw for 493 yards and 7 touchdowns against Oklahoma, and then 463 yards and 5 touchdowns on Clemson. Numbers that probably won't be seen again.

After his college career, Burrow was the #1 overall draft pick in the NFL Draft. While in his rookie year for the Cincinnati Bengals, Burrow injured his knee. Tearing his ACL mid season. Once rehabbed, Burrow was back on the field, faster than many expected. He started the 2021 season for the Bengals under center.

Now he has he's team in the Super Bowl. What a ride.
