Ono Hawaiian Grill Downtown Shreveport Closing, Returning to Food Truck
Sad news has officially hit downtown Shreveport: our only Hawaiian restaurant, Ono Hawaiian Grill, is permanently closing its doors.
They’ve only been operating for a little over a year, and their spectacular Ahi Tuna Nachos deserve recognition far beyond the city limits. This Hawaiian fusion spot quickly became an essential culinary stop, and while the storefront is closing, the amazing food will thankfully transition back to a food truck format.
Ono made the announcement on social media, saying: "After careful consideration, we’ve decided to close our doors at Onos and return to our roots with the food truck where we truly shine! Our last day will be Sunday, November 23rd. We hope to see you all this week! Much Love and Aloha!”
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to visit, this is your last chance to go show some love to the fantastic bartenders and waiters, some of my absolute favorites have been serving there. You have to rush to their downtown address at 708 Texas Street before they close forever.
While those nachos are the headline, it will also be your last chance to grab The Trio, which is truly one of the best "bang for your buck" entrees in the Shreveport area. If you can’t make up your mind, The Trio is the perfect solution. The plate features three main proteins: tender pulled pork, perfectly fried and crispy Chicken Katsu (with their signature Japanese-Hawaiian BBQ sauce).
Go support the team and get your last taste of their spectacular food before they hit the road. Much Love and Aloha!
