
More North Louisiana Bridge Closures Will Impact Drive Next Week
You might recall that DOTD put North Louisiana on notice last week of the numerous bridge closures that are taking place this week.

All those bridges and/or entrance/exit ramps are being closed or reduced to one lane for the purpose of routine bridge inspection.
As those bridge inspections continue, the Louisiana Department of Transportation, through a series of notices, has advised of a number of additional bridge closings for next week.
US 84 Bridge Over Castor Bayou In DeSoto Parish
On Monday, July 14, the US 84 bridge over Castor Bayou near Logansport in DeSoto Parish will be reduced to one lane from approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. This bridge is located approximately 2.1 miles east of LA 5.
This lane closure will allow vehicles 14 feet wide or smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must utilize an alternate route.
LA 2 (Miller’s Bluff) Bridge Over Red River In Bossier Parish
On Wednesday, July 16, the LA 2 (Miller’s Bluff) bridge over the Red River in Bossier Parish will be reduced to one lane from approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. This bridge is located approximately 3.3 miles east of US 71
This lane closure will allow vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must utilize an alternate route.
LA 170 Bridge Over Black Bayou In Caddo Parish
On Friday, July 18, the LA 170 bridge over Black Bayou near Gilliam in Caddo Parish will be reduced to one lane from approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. This bridge is located approximately 1.52 miles west of US 71. (see included map).
This lane closure will allow vehicles 14 feet wide or smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must utilize an alternate route.
LA 511 (Jimmie Davis Bridge) Over Red River In Caddo/Bossier Parishes
On Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20, the LA 511 (Jimmie Davis Bridge) over the Red River in Caddo and Bossier Parishes will be reduced to one lane from approximately 6:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. This bridge is located approximately 0.7 miles west of LA 1.
Please note that this area is also an active construction zone due to the ongoing Jimmie Davis Bridge replacement project, so drivers should be alerted to crews and equipment in the vicinity.
This lane closure will allow vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller to pass through the inspection zone. Larger vehicles must utilize an alternate route.
