Two New Orleans Police Officers have been arrested for assaulting a man outside of a bar early Tuesday morning. The officers John Galman and Spencer Sutton who graduated from the academy back in December were booked for simple assault after a fight which sent a man to the hospital. The Advocate is reporting that NOPD have started termination hearings for both officers who were still in their probation period after being hired.

The victim in the assault is 36 year old George Gomez of New Orleans. Gomez was at the same bar as the off duty officers when he says they approached him about his camouflage shirt questioning if he was an American. "He asked me if I was American. I told him yes, and he got mad because he said I was fake," Gomez told the advocate. Gomez says not only is he an American citizen but also an ex member of the Louisiana National Guard. The assault happened outside the bar at Gomez's truck.
