Violent Day in Shreveport Leaves Two Dead
Two murders in one day in Shreveport. The first happened at the Economy Inn near Monkhouse and I-20 early Tuesday morning. Two people got into a heated argument shortly before 4am when things escalated and another man stepped in and pulled out a gun firing shots. The victim was hit by the shots and was also run over by an SUV.
Police did catch up with 22-year-old Romullus Noyes. He is charged with second-degree murder. Noyes has told detectives he stepped in to defend his mother.
Later in the day, police were called to the Village Food store in the 5300 block of Jewella where a clerk at the store had been shot. The victim is identified as 29-year-old Roderick Walker. This is the 10th murder of the year in Shreveport.
Police are still looking for clues in this case.
