UPDATE: Shreveport Police have arrested a man in connection with the Mackey Lane shooting. According to SPD, Johnquavious Harris has been arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Battery. Harris was allegedly found hiding in the woods near the crime scene. The victim, Corey Thomas, suffered a non life threatening wound to the leg.

In regards to the shooting that left two children wounded, Police are still investigating the incident. The 15 year old boy and 6 year old girl are believed to be victims of a drive-by shooting. Both children, thankfully, suffered non life threatening wounds.

Police believe a silver pickup truck was used in the drive-by. However, no further details are available at this time. Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call them at 318-673-7300.


ORIGINAL STORY: Shreveport Police are investigating two Wednesday afternoon shootings that left multiple victims wounded - including two children. According to Caddo 911, Shreveport police are actively investing both crime scenes. One crime scene is located on Mackey Lane at Letha Loop & Bayonne Drive. The other is on East 68th between Thornhill Avenue and Line Avenue.

The first incident happened around 2:45 pm Wednesday at the East 68th location. According to reports, a young girl (aged 5 to 6) and a 15 year old boy were shot at that location. KTBS is reporting that the girl suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and the boy was shot in the leg.

The second incident on Mackey Lane happened just before 3 pm. The victim there was reportedly suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

At this time, there have been no updates from Shreveport Police about suspects, arrests or the status of the investigations. As we get updates, we will update this page.
