Local Business Update: The Moppet Shoppe Closing Its Doors

It is a truly sad day for our community as we prepare to say goodbye to a local treasure that has been a staple in our lives for as long as many of us can remember.

If you grew up in Shreveport, there is a very high chance that this business was a major part of your childhood memories. It really feels like the end of an era as a long-time favorite prepares to close its doors for good.

According to the heartfelt message shared on Facebook, The Moppet Shoppe is officially closing at the end of May. For over 50 years, this shop has been a special part of our community. They have taken immense pride in dressing generations of local families and curating the finest children’s clothing, accessories, and gifts. As "The Moppet Girls" noted in their announcement, it has truly been an honor to serve us for five decades.

While it is difficult to see them go, they are going out with grateful hearts and are inviting all of their "sweet customers" to stop by one last time.

The sale officially kicked off on Thursday, May 7th, featuring 40% off. They will remain open during their regular hours through the end of May, giving us all a few more weeks to visit, reminisce, and perhaps pick up one last special gift.

It is heartbreaking to lose a business with this much history, but let’s make sure we show them some major love during their final weeks in business. Thank you, Moppet Shoppe, for the memories and for being such a beautiful part of our community’s story.
