Minden’s Corbin Colvin Named Louisiana Champion for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals [PHOTOS]
Corbin Colvin and his family are about to embark on an exciting year.
Each year a lucky child is selected to represent their state for all things Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. This year, the state of Louisiana will be represented by Minden's Corbin Colvin. The announcement was made in a special ceremony at First Baptist Minden on Monday evening.
His duties will include traveling to Washington D.C. and Disney World.
Corbin, who is five years, old was presented with the key to the city by the Mayor of Minden, Tommy Davis, and April 4 has officially been declared as Corbin Colvin Day. Friends and family gathered for the momentous occasion, as did local and national partners like Townsquare Media, Marriott, Chico's FAS, Delta, and KSLA. Miss Louisiana April Nelson was also there and she closed the ceremony by singing "Climb Every Mountain" from The Sound of Music.
At a very early age, Corbin was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. For his pediatric therapy he attends Kids Clinic through CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier which is completely funded by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and your donations. He has gone from crawling to learning to walk with his tripod canes.
Eventually he will learn how to walk independently.
Here are some photos from yesterday's celebration.
