The city of Shreveport promised to bring more stores and more shoppers to Mall St Vincent after 16 and a half million dollar tax payer funded facelift, but that's just not the case.

3 years later, the mall is still struggling to survive. One of the highlights of the remodel, an outdoor fountain, is already crumbling. The fountain itself is without water and all the plants surrounding it are dead.

Store wise, this year alone, Gymboree and Grimaldi's Pizza at the mall have shut down and stores like Sears are barely hanging on. According to a sales tax analysis, people are spending less money at the mall now than they were before the remodel.

Experts say changing consumer habits and online shopping are killing malls all across America. Some even predict that 25 percent of malls will close within the next 5 years.
