With Father's Day approaching, personal finance website WalletHub conducted an in-depth study on the Best & Worst States for Working Dads.

Not-so-great news for our local pops...Louisiana was ranked the 5th-worst state for working dads. WalletHub analyzed the work-life balance, health conditions, financial well-being and child-rearing environments for working dads in the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

It used 20 key metrics, ranging from the unemployment rate for dads with kids younger than 18, to male life expectancy, to day care quality.

Here are some of the stats, with 1 being the best and 25 being average:

Living as a Working Dad in Louisiana (1=Best; 25=Avg.):
49th - Male Life Expectancy at Birth
27th - % of Dads with Kids Younger than 18 Living in Poverty
39th - Male Uninsured Rate
48th - Mean Hours Worked per Day Among Males
48th - Mortality Rate due to Heart Disease per 100,000 Men
36th - % of Men Who Report Adequate or Any Physical Activity
48th - Day Care Quality
49th - Number of Prostate Cancer Cases per 100,000 Men
