A 24-year-old Louisiana mother has been charged with second-degree murder after her child died from a neck injury.

Jasmine Anderson of Alexandria, brought her lifeless five-year-old child into a local E.R. and claimed her daughter was fatally injured in a car accident. However, officials say from the jump that hospital staff and law enforcement were skeptical of the story. They claimed that it was obvious that the type of injury the child sustained was not one typically received as a result of a car accident.

On top of that, officials could not find the crash area of the vehicle as described by Anderson.

Anderson has had a tumultuous past, with the death of her child's four-year-old brother earlier this year, as well as the untimely passing of her husband in 2016.

We will update this story as new information comes forward.
