The wait is finally over for baseball fans! It's opening week of the 2026 Major League Baseball season.

In Wednesday night's season opener, the New York Yankees defeated the San Francisco Giants in a 7-0 shut-out.
In several key games today, the Pirates will meet the Mets, it's the Red Sox and the Reds, Tigers and the Padres and the reigning World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers will play the Diamondbacks tonight.

And even though Louisiana has never had a single Major League Baseball team, the Bayou State has surely contributed some big names to the ranks of professional baseball.
