To better illustrate just how big Tanya's feet are, let's consider LeBron James, one of the most recognizable names ever in the world of basketball, and the fact that  he only wears a size 15 tennis shoe.

Michael Jordan's feet seem tiny in comparison, as he wears only a size 13. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA Hall of Famer, who stands 7 feet two inches tall, wears a size 16.

Seeing the shoe sizes of these world class athletes gives us perspective to the size feet that Tanya Herbert of Houston, Texas was born with.

Tanya, who has been named the Guinness World Record holder for the world's largest feet on a living female, wears a men's size 16 or 17, which equates to a woman's size 18.

It's said that "everything is bigger in Texas" and Herbert could prove that adage correct as she stands 6 feet 9 inches tall, which she says, "surprisingly to me, is only three inches shorter than the tallest woman in the world."

Considering Herbert's magnum sized tootsies, one could joke that she has a "good under standing" and while that's true for the most part, the sheer size of her feet have caused her more than her fair share of problems over the years.

In an article from fox32chicago.com, we learn that over the last couple of decades, due to a total lack of women's shoes in her size, Herbert has had to make do wearing men's shoes, but once her plight to locate genuine women's shoes went viral, Mohop, a boutique in the Chicago area, came to Herbert's rescue.

There Is Finally A Company Making Women's Shoes Large Enough For Her

According to a report from fox32chicago.com, Annie Mohaupt, co-founder of Mohop said, "We have been working a long time on a variety of sizes and really trying to create larger and larger shoes, but we’d never made size 18, so I was like, ‘let’s give it a try.’"

Mohop first made Herbert a size 18 pair of wedges and after seeing how well she liked those, they crafted Herbert her very first set of heels.

Herbert said of Mohop's creation, "They were my first pair of feminine shoes, they were the first company that reached out to me to help me in my shoe-finding journey, and I was forever grateful."
