Major Repairs Coming to West 70th Street in Shreveport Next Week
Please understand this analogy is only an attempt at humor, but it would appear that Shreveport/Bossier is up for sale.

As you scratch your head pondering the possible insinuation there, let me explain. You know the process when you're about to sell your vehicle, right? You have every little thing fixed up and then give it a detailed wash and wax before you put that For Sale sign on it, hoping your efforts will ultimately lead to a greater return.
Has There Ever Been A Time We Had This Many Road Projects At Once In Shreveport?
Well, it could be argued that's exactly what's going on in Northwest Louisiana. With the countless road projects we currently have in the area, and those that have recently been completed, it could be said that drivers around here have never had it so good. Of course, the traffic delays caused by construction projects are obviously the "down-side" of the progress, but nonetheless, we are certainly moving in the right direction.

And now the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has just announced another project scheduled to begin next week. In that announcement, we learn of a $692,698 project that will provide concrete panel repairs to a portion of LA 511 (W 70th Street) in Shreveport.
That stretch of West 70th Street in Shreveport extends from Jewella Avenue to US 171 (Mansfield Road)
When Is This New Project on West 70th Street Scheduled To Begin?
The work, slated to begin next Wednesday, February 18, will include the removal and replacement of damaged concrete panels along LA 511, is expected to be completed in May of this year, dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
Intermittent lane closures will necessary while construction is underway, in both the inside and outside lanes (though efforts will be made to alternate the lanes and directions to reduce delays to motorists).
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
