The Krewe's Grand Bal was originally planned for this Saturday, January 24th, but Old Man Winter had a different plan.

Erring on the side of caution, the Krewe of Centaur made the painful decision to postpone this formal night of fun and on Wednesday, January 21, held an emergency meeting with all members to discuss options.

By the night's end, the Krewe knew they had a solid alternative and made the announcement that the Krewe of Centaur Bal had been rescheduled for Thursday, February 5 in downtown Shreveport at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Doors for this formal night will open at 5:00 pm and Tableaux will begin at 7:30 pm. All tickets for the original date will be honored and and any others needing to purchase tickets can get those at centaurtickets.com.

For those paying attention to the calendar, this year's Bal will kick off an extremely busy weekend for the Krewe of Centaur.

With the Bal now scheduled for Thursday, February 5, attendees will have just enough time to recover from the night's events before the Float Loading Party runs from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, February 6, and then hit the streets of Shreveport for the annual Krewe of Centaur Parade rolling at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 7.

For those wishing to attend the Krewe of Centaur "Float Loading Party" on Friday, February 6, it will be held again this year at the Krewe of Centaur Den at 351 Aero Drive in Shreveport. It's a FREE family friendly event, but for those wishing to enjoy the "VIP Experience" which includes a guided tour, specialty swag and meet and greet with royalty, those tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased at kreweofcentaur.org
