I'll be the first to admit, I'm easily amused. But I think anyone who knows about the Kindness Rocks Project will smile, too. I remember hearing about the 318 Painted Rock Hunt before the pandemic, but now, I think we need a little sunshine like this in our lives more than ever before!

My friend Stephanie and I found the rock pictured above as we were leaving Simple Church at the Shreveport Convention Center. I was giddy like a school girl when I saw it and realized what it was. I'd been wanting to see one in person and for that one moment, all was right in the world.

Wouldn't it be nice to have more moments like that? The concept of leaving specially painted rocks with an inspirational message all started with Megan Murphy, founder of The Kindness Rocks Project. Since its inception, clubs have popped up all over the world. Different forums are created by location for the express purpose of sharing and connecting and tracing these little pieces of art. On the local 318 Painted Rock Hunt page on Facebook, one rock was tracked down all the way in Ohio!

Don't forget, if you find a rock, you're free to keep it, but the idea is to pay it forward and paint and hide your own masterpiece. I think I'll be holding on to mine. Does anyone want to have a paint party with me?
