The Most Underrated Hibachi Steak Dinner in Shreveport, Louisiana

There is one thing I will absolutely never skip out on if it is on the menu. My ultimate food obsession? Steak.

Because of that, hibachi will forever be one of my absolute favorite meals. You just can’t beat the combination of delicious fried rice, steak, chicken, and vegetables for dinner. But let's be honest: sometimes you want the food without the theatrical show that comes with it. Sometimes, you just want to grab some incredible takeout and head home.

That is exactly how Kanpai Sushi captured my love and attention.

Don’t let the name fool you. Yes, they sell great sushi, and yes, they have that famous "buy two, get one free" special on their sushi. But what they really need to be known for is their hibachi. It is absolute perfection, served right out of a wonderfully unassuming spot on North Market.

The Standouts

The family that owns Kanpai is incredibly kind. They personally walked me through the menu, and they were actually the ones who convinced me to order the Pau Pau Fries. I am so glad they did! Since when do I like fries piled high with crab meat and all those delicious, savory sauces? Every single forkful was the ultimate perfect bite.

I also dove into the Korean-style barbecue spare ribs, which were top-tier, tender, and packed with flavor.

I absolutely love finding hidden gems in our community that serve up unexpectedly delicious eats. Kanpai Sushi has officially earned a spot on my regular rotation.
