The New Orleans Saints search for their next head coach has been anything but easy. Currently, they are the only team that hasn't filled their vacancy. An unexpected snow storm seems to have cost them an opportunity to sign who was seemingly their top candidate in former Lions DC Aaron Glenn. Joe Brady, the offensive mastermind behind LSU's last National Championship team and the Buffalo Bills, has pulled his name out of contention for the job. Pete Carroll, Mike Vrabel and several other top coaching candidates have taken jobs elsewhere.

So, who is left to lead the Saints? Here's the latest outlook on their coaching search.

Is Kellen Moore The Frontrunner for the New Orleans Saints?

Vegas is typically pretty good for figuring out who will win a game or be hired for a job. However, when it comes to the Saints coaching search, things haven't exactly gone well for them.

Originally, Aaron Glenn was the betting favorite. Followed by Mike McCarthy and Joe Brady. As mentioned above Joe Brady & Aaron Glenn are both off the board. Mike McCarthy, allegedly, has yet to have an official interview with the team.

However, it appears that the Saints are narrowing the search and may have a top candidate or two that hasn't really been talked about as much as the other potential candidates.

It appears that the Saints are hot and heavy on Kellen Moore. According to Adam Schefter, Moore already had one interview with the Saints - which allegedly went extremely well. Now, it sounds like the Saints Front Office is flying to Philly to have a second, in-person interview with Moore. Here's what Ian Rapoport is reporting:

If they're going out of their way to have an in-person interview with Moore on his home turf, that's a pretty solid indication that there's mutual interest there.

Could Kliff Kingsbury Be a Good Fit For the Saints?

The other big name floating around at the moment that hasn't been getting the same attention as some of the candidates is Kliff Kingsbury. According to Bleacher Report yesterday, Kingsbury has not accepted the interview request with the Saints as he was focused on trying to win the NFC Championship game with Washington.

However, now that the Commanders have been eliminated, Kingsbury may be more open to interview with a job. He's been a head coach before - having mixed success in Arizona. On the offensive side of the ball, the man is a genius. With a little experience, could he be a better head coach this time around? There's definitely that potential.

Mike McCarty Is Still Considered The Front Runner for the Saints

While it seems that the Saints are looking at young offensive minds, there still seems to be the feeling that McCarthy is the leading candidate for the job. Adam Schefter said on Sportscenter yesterday that McCarthy was "right there amongst the favorites, if not the favorite for the job right now."

While it doesn't sound he's officially interviewed for the job yet, he is a Super Bowl winning coach. He was the leader of the Saints offense when they won their first playoff game ever back in 2000. So, he's got the pedigree and a built-in history with the team.

We can trash talk the Cowboys all we want, but in 5 years under McCarthy's leadership, the Boys were 49-35, won the NFC East twice and made the playoffs 3 times. As a head coach, he's career winning percentage is over 60% and he's made the playoffs more often than he's missed them.

So, he may not be the guy to win them a Super Bowl. But, historically speaking, he's got a pretty solid track record of turning teams around and winning ball games.

Regardless of who ends up getting the job, it sounds like the Saints are starting to zero in on who they want, what they want and we should have a pretty good idea on who will have the job by the time Super Bowl Sunday rolls around.
