The Total Eclipse of April 8th is One of the Most Anticipated Events in America.

Remember when we saw an eclipse in 2017? It felt kind of underwhelming didn't it? Shreveport wasn't in the path of totality for the 2017 eclipse however this time we will get a show. Although we are not in the path of totality the path passes close by.

What Exactly Is an Eclipse?

Simply put the moon moves in between the Earth and the sun and during the peak, or what's called totality, the moon will block the view of the sun for a few minutes. It is very rare and some people claim it brings on a scary feeling.

Several people in Shreveport are planning to head to East Texas and some people plan to take a quick drive to Texarkana, wherever you plan to drive to make sure you get to your perfect spot before 1:00 p.m. just to be sure.

According to Eclipse2024.org people who are in the path of totality will see anywhere from 3 to 4 minutes just before 1:43 pm central.
