Sports Card Expo Scheduled For August in Shreveport
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to downtown Shreveport this August. But this year the event won't be alone. The same weekend, inside the same building (the Shreveport Convention Center), there will be a brand new event side-by-side with Geek'd Con.
August 16th, 17th, and 18th, both Geek'd Con and the Shreveport Sports Card Expo will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center.
There isn't an extra ticket to purchase, you can get into the Sports Card Expo with your Geek'd Con ticket.
That means 1 ticket gets you 2 shows, over 3 days!
The Shreveport Sports Card Expo will take place at Geek'd Con, inside the Captain Shreve Ballroom. The whole ballroom will be filled with sports card dealers, sports memorabilia, and card collecting supplies. Not just that, but there will be sports legends on hand to sign autographs all weekend.
This event will give fans a chance to get autographs from Pro and College Football Hall of Fame members, MLB All Stars, Heisman Trophy award winners, all-stars, and more! One of the big names coming is former Texas Rangers star Rafael Palmeiro.
During his career, Rafael Palmeiro became one of the best all-around baseball players in Major League Baseball history. He's one of just 7 players in the history of Major League Baseball to reach 500 home runs AND 3,000 hits.
Palmeiro was named to 4 All-Star teams, won 3 Gold Gloves, and won 2 Silver Slugger Awards. He was a member of the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, and Baltimore Orioles during his 20-year MLB career.
One of the other guests for the Sports Card Expo is Pro Football Hall of Fame member and Dallas Cowboys legend, Bob Lilly:
Since its start, Geek'd Con has been one of the premiere comic con style events in the state of Louisiana. The event has generated millions of dollars in economic impact to the Shreveport and Bossier City area. This will be the 9th show in Geek'd Con history, starting in 2015, and only missing 2020 due to the pandemic.
With the addition of a secondary event, this could mean an even bigger economic impact for the Shreveport and Bossier City area.
Tickets are available right now.
