Shreveport’s Prize Fest Makes Big Changes for 2024

Prize Fest Held a Press Conference on Tuesday Morning.

Prize Fest is a creative competition and festival that takes over Shreveport, Louisiana featuring film, food, music, and comedy with huge cash prizes and other awards. Several media members and the Mayor of Shreveport Tom Arceneaux were present at the Prize Fest headquarters in Downtown Shreveport on Tuesday morning.

Mayor Arceneaux addressed the media praising the efforts of Prize Fest, "The Louisiana Film Prize, the whole Prize Festival, is such an enormous event for the city of Shreveport. It brings people here. It gives people a really fun thing to do, it brings filmmakers from all over the country and really all over the world to be here, to participate." Mayor Arceneaux went on to share the goodness of Food Prize. "I believe that Food Prize has been one of the reasons that we have become such a foodie city. There are so many people that have participated in Food Prize that have now opened their own restaurants. We have so many locally owned, very fine restaurants, and it's the result of Food Prize."

Gregory Kallenberg the Founder of Prize Fest Announced That Prize Fest is Back to a One Week Celebration.

After the pandemic, Prize Fest was stretched out to a 2-week event, however this year it is going back to how the festival was run when it first took over Shreveport, all in one week. Prize Fest kicks off on Wednesday, October 19th, and goes on until Sunday, October 20th. Several members of the community are planning to take time off work to participate in all the fun of Prize Fest. You can see the complete schedule below.
