Meet McLovin And More At Geek’d Con This Year
You don't have to book a flight to Los Angeles to rub elbows with the stars this summer. Geek'd Con is bringing Hollywood directly to the Shreveport Convention Center from August 14th through the 16th, 2026.
This massive pop culture event delivers a true comic con experience right to the heart of the Ark-La-Tex. Fans have the rare opportunity to secure professional photo ops and autographs with legendary actors, voice artists, and creators all weekend long.
McLovin Is Coming To Shreveport In 2026
Alert the group chat. An absolute pop culture nuke is being dropped onto the Geek'd Con 2026 lineup. With the addition of the incredibly talented Christopher Mintz-Plasse!
Christopher exploded onto the screen in the generation-defining comedy 'Superbad' with his unforgettable, breakout performance as McLovin.
The character McLovin from the 2007 comedy Superbad became an instant pop culture icon, representing the ultimate triumph of the awkward, desperate teenage outcast. His infamous Hawaiian organ donor fake ID card has transcended the film itself, becoming a widely recognizable meme and a popular novelty item sold globally.
The character's name has evolved into a colloquial term used to affectionately describe lovable nerds who unexpectedly succeed in high-stakes or socially intimidating situations. Even nearly two decades after the film's release, his signature one-liners and bold aesthetic continue to resonate across social media, cementing his status as a defining comedic figure of millennial cinema.

He continued to anchor the modern "coming of age" era of cinema with hilarious, fan-favorite performances in 'Role Models', the hit 'Neighbors' franchise, and the musical juggernaut 'Pitch Perfect'. In a very special connection to our local film history, he also starred in the prehistoric comedy 'Year One', which was filmed right here in Shreveport.
Mintz-Plasse Plays The Bad Guy
Transitioning (kinda) from comedy into the superhero genre, Christopher stepped into the violent, adrenaline-fueled world of comic book adaptations in the massive hit 'Kick-Ass'. He delivered an incredible performance across the franchise as the spoiled rich-kid-turned-vigilante, Chris D'Amico, better known by his costumed alter-ego, Red Mist. Christopher reprised the role in the sequel, 'Kick-Ass 2'.
He also recently returned to the comic book realm by bringing his vocal talents to the Paramount+ animated series 'Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'.
Did You Know That Character Is Voiced By McLovin?
Beyond live action, Christopher has built an absolute powerhouse legacy in the voice acting world, anchoring two multi-billion-dollar animated franchises. He is universally beloved by fans as the voice of the lovable dragon enthusiast Fishlegs Ingerman, a role he has played across the entire 'How to Train Your Dragon' film and television universe.
He also brings the grumpy-turned-happy Bergen leader, King Gristle Jr, to life in the blockbuster 'Trolls' franchise.
Christopher Mintz-Plasse Is A Renaissance Man
To cap off his wildly versatile resume, Christopher has even left his mark on the horror genre, starring as "Evil" Ed Lee in the highly praised, blood-soaked remake of the vampire classic, 'Fright Night'.
Outside of his acting career, Christopher is an incredibly accomplished touring musician. He spent eight years playing drums for the rock band The Young Rapscallions before stepping up as a bassist to form his own bands, including Bear on Fire and the alternative rock trio Colorvision.
More recently, he has showcased his musical versatility by traveling the country as the touring bass player for acclaimed indie-rocker Ben Kweller, joining the legendary musician on the road for the 2021 Circuit Boredom tour as well as the 2025 Cover the Mirrors tour.
