In case you haven't checked the weather forecast lately, things could get a little rough in the Shreveport-Bossier area. There's a real threat of freezing rain, sleet, and dangerous conditions. Unfortunately, those kinds of conditions can really hamper fun and excitement around town - especially during Mardi Gras season.

And, unfortunately, due to the threat of extremely bad weather - one of the biggest Mardi Gras Bals is being put on hold.

Krewe of Centaur Bal on Hold Due to Severe Weather Threat

With the threat of icy conditions, poor road conditions, and possible power outages, the Krewe of Centaur has made the difficult decision to postpone their Bal that was scheduled to take place Saturday night.

According to a statement from Captain Ricky Bridges, after careful consideration, the Krewe made the decision to postpone this weekend's major event. Bridges noted that the safety of the community and krewe members are a top priority.

He says the Krewe is efforting to get new dates and rebook the event for some time in the coming weeks and details will be made available as soon as possible.
