
The Voice of Mickey Mouse, Bret Iwan, is Coming to Shreveport in 2025
Mark your calendars, Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con started in Downtown Shreveport. When this event started back in 2015, not many people probably expected the event to still be going a decade later. But it's 2025, and Geek'd Con is coming back to the Shreveport Convention Center, August 22nd-24th. That's right, its Geek'd Con's 10th Anniversary!
This year's guest lineup already includes a 35th Anniversary "Shell-a-Bration" for the release of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Including voice actors Brian Tochi (Leonardo), Robbie Rist (Michalangelo), and martial artists Ernie Reyes, Jr. (Donatello) and Kenn Scott (Raphael). The four Turtles actors will be joined by Francois Chau, who portrayed The Shredder in the TMNT film universe as well.
Disney's official voice of Mickey Mouse, Bret Iwan, is coming to Geek'd Con this August!
Its a career that has shaped the sound of childhood for millions, Bret Iwan has been the official voice of Mickey Mouse for well over a decade. He took over the mantle from the legendary Wayne Allwine. Iwan's journey began as Allwine's understudy, culminating in his first recorded Mickey dialogue for Disney's Animal Kingdom in 2009, as well as the 2009 productions of Disney On Ice: Celebrations, and Disney Live: Rockin' Road Show.
Since then, Iwan has become the definitive voice of the world's most famous mouse, lending his talents to a vast array of Disney projects. His voice is instantly recognizable in popular shows like "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," "Mickey Mouse Funhouse," "Mickey and the Roadster Racers," and "Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures." He has also brought Mickey to life in numerous films and high-profile video game franchises, including "Kingdom Hearts," "Epic Mickey," "Disney Infinity," "Disney Dreamlight Valley," and "Disney Speedstorm."
Prior to his iconic voice acting career, Iwan honed his artistic skills at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida, and worked as an illustrator at Hallmark.
Beyond his vocal talents, Iwan is a gifted artist, capable of drawing Mickey Mouse with remarkable skill, a talent showcased in various official Disney videos. This unique combination of vocal and artistic prowess has solidified Iwan's position as a crucial part of Mickey Mouse's enduring legacy.
