A morning dispute concerning an ex-boyfriend escalated violently on Youree Drive last Friday, resulting in one woman being rushed to the hospital with a severe head wound and two suspects being taken into custody.

The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Detectives quickly resolved the case, leading to charges of Aggravated Battery and Principal to Aggravated Battery.

Victim Seeks Aid at Willis-Knighton Pierremont

The incident first came to the attention of law enforcement on November 1, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m. Patrol officers were dispatched to Willis-Knighton Pierremont after receiving a report of an assault and battery.

At the medical facility, officers met with the female victim, who provided a disturbing account of the attack that had occurred earlier at the 8001 Youree Drive address.

The victim reported that she was attacked by two females. The situation reportedly intensified dramatically when one of the assailants allegedly picked up an iron and repeatedly struck the victim in the head. This blow caused a significant, deep laceration.

The victim stated that both women continued to assault her during the incident, which she indicated was sparked by a dispute over a former boyfriend.

Shreveport Police Responds to Victim at Hospital

Due to the severity of the victim's injuries, Violent Crimes Detectives were immediately called to the hospital. They consulted with the attending physician in the Emergency Room, who confirmed the seriousness of the injury.

The doctor informed detectives that the victim had suffered an approximately nine-inch laceration to her head. The wound was severe enough to require staples for proper treatment, highlighting the dangerous nature of the weapon used and the force of the attack.

2 Shreveport Suspects Identified and Booked

Through the subsequent investigation following the hospital interview, detectives successfully identified both individuals allegedly responsible for the brutal assault. Both suspects were arrested and charged without delay:

  • Dyaushaua Jones (41) was arrested and booked into jail for the felony charge of Aggravated Battery.

  • Roshunquel Jackson (32) was arrested and booked for Principal to Aggravated Battery, indicating her role in aiding or encouraging the commission of the crime.

Chief Wayne Smith lauded the coordinated effort between the Patrol Division and the detectives, praising their "swift and precise work" that brought the case to a quick resolution and ensured public safety.
