Why Yellow Capped Cokes Are Flying off Louisiana Shelves
Coke aficionados can probably tell the difference between different Coca-Cola products just by looking at the bottle cap. Coke lovers know a red cap is "Regular" Coke, a silver cap is "Diet Coke", and a black cap is the "Coke Zero." (The best one)
But do you know what it means if you see a Coke with a yellow cap? This is one of those ellusive, highly sought after Coke products that people will snatch off the shelves as soon as they see them. The yellow cap signifies that this version is very different than what you are probably familiar with.
Most people may not even realize why these bottles have the yellow cap because the label pretty much looks the same as the regular Coke label. But those who are 'in the know,' will grab them immediately. Which is why they are hard to find.
What the Yellow-Capped Coke Bottle Means
The difference in the regular 'red-capped' Coke and the 'yellow-caps' is all in the ingredients. The yellow cap signifies a Coke that has been made with real cane sugar, instead of high-fructose corn syrup. It's also popular around this time of the year because this version is also kosher for Passover.
What if You Can't Find Any Yellow-Capped Cokes?
If you can't find the popular yellow-capped bottles of Coke in your favorite grocer, you can also look for bottles of Mexican Coke, which is made from the same ingredients as the yellow-capped Coke... but if you can find the yellow caps, you won't have to pay a tariff.
