Shreveport Police Arrest Man Following Two Home Invasions

Shreveport Police Detectives identified a man as the suspect in an October 2nd burglary in the 100 block of East Egan Street.

Around 6 a.m., a neighbor heard a loud noise and saw a man climbing out of the victim’s window. The suspect reportedly begged the neighbor not to call police, then began kicking his door after the neighbor went inside for safety.

The homeowner returned to find his house ransacked and a pair of old Army boots stolen. Other property taken from the home was recovered outside. The neighbor identified Demarco Jerome Evans as the suspect.

Centenary Police were able to arrest Evans for a separate home invasion reported on campus before the East Egan Street burglary.

Evans is now facing the following charges:

· Home invasion

· Aggravated battery

· Simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling

From SPD:

"A watchful neighbor helped detectives piece this case together. If you see suspicious activity, get somewhere safe and call police."
