SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport Police Arrest Convicted Felon for Murder
The Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit has made an arrest in the July 17 homicide that claimed the life of a man in the 4700 block of Kennedy Drive. At approximately 6:50 p.m., officers responded to this location regarding a male deceased from a gunshot wound to the head.
Detectives from the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the issuance of a warrant for 23 year old Everett Henderson.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., Shreveport Police Special Response Team members took Henderson into custody at a residence in the Pines Road area.
Henderson has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Further arrests may be forthcoming.
Chief Wayne Smith commends the outstanding work of the detectives and SRT members involved in the investigation and apprehension of this violent criminal.
This provokes two questions: "Why was he on the streets?" and "How long before he's out again?"
