Shreveport Fire Department Battle Early Morning House Fire
On Friday, November 29, 2024, Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) crews responded to a residential fire in the 7000 block of Penny St. The call was received from the occupants at 6:13 A.M.
Engine 15 arrived on the scene at 6:16 A.M., where smoke and flames were reported
coming from the residence. Upon entrance to the home a fire was located
inside the rear bedroom of the residence.
The fire was contained to the rear of the structure and was reported to have moderate fire and smoke damage.
A total of eight (8) units, including twenty-four (24) firefighters and support
staff, worked to extinguish the fire, which was brought under control by
approximately 6:31 A.M. All residents were able to exit the home with no
injuries and no injuries were reported to any SFD personnel.
SFD Fire Investigators are continuing their investigation into the fire but
have determined that it originated from an electrical issue.
