Shreveport Man Found Guilty of Domestic Violence Murder
A Shreveport man accused of fatally beating his domestic partner to death has been found guilty of second-degree murder in Caddo Court.
Back in March of 2023, 23 year-old Heaven Weed was brought to the hospital by her mother who found her unresponsive at her home. Her injuries included swelling of the brain, fractured ribs, lacerations and bruising all over her body. She was so stiff it took several emergency personnel to move her from the car to the treatment area.
Surveillance video showed her at a local night club with Lindsey the night of March 1 to early March 2.
Police responded to Ms. Weed's home, where her domestic partner 36 year-old Brandon Wayne Lindsey, had been living for close to a month. Police noted the strong smell of several different cleaning products, before noting blood splatter in the living room, kitchen, and pantry. Investigators noted several spots in the house where blood had been wiped. They also found items from the bed in the washing machine containing Ms. Weed's Blood. Lindsey's clothing worn at the club also contained the victim’s blood.
Police retrieved both vehicle GPS and phone data that placed Lindsey at the victim’s home from 1:30 a.m. until 11:07 a.m. Lindsey went to work but returned to Ms. Weed's residence around 11:45 a.m. His phone and vehicle remained there until the victim's mother came home around 8 p.m.
When the mother arrived at the home, she was met by Lindsey, who quickly pushed past her only saying "She's messed up" before leaving. The victim was at the residence with Lindsey about 18 hours, when her mother took her to the hospital.
After a week in the hospital, Ms. Weed died from her closed-head traumatic brain injury. Her organs were donated.
It took the nine-woman, three-man jury less than an hour before returning its unanimous guilty verdict against Lindsey.
From the Caddo DA:
"Lindsey has multiple convictions for domestic-related charges in Bossier Parish dating back to 2010.
When Lindsey returns to Judge Victory's court for sentencing December 8, 2025, he faces a mandatory life sentence at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
Lindsey was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Victoria Washington and Courtney N. Ray. He was represented by Michael Enright and Katie Miller."
