Shreveport Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault With a Firearm

Shreveport Police Department responded to a disturbance on St. Landry Drive.

A 911 caller reported someone was blocking her vehicle and was attempting to fight her. Dispatchers could hear loud yelling and profanity in the background during the call.

When SPD arrived on the scene, they found several people involved in a heated argument. Officers worked to calm the situation and separate the people involved.

Officers learned that one of the people involved had been threatening others while armed with a gun. SPD found the gun in the suspect’s waistband and safely secured the gun and took him into custody.

Javelle Mitchell was arrested and charged with:

· Illegal Carrying of a Weapon

· Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

While being processed at the Shreveport City Jail, Officers also found that Mitchell had eight outstanding warrants for his arrest.
