This week's episodes of Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show' will feature some extra Louisiana spice. Not that the show doesn't normally have a dose, but it's going to be extra this week.

The Louisiana flavor added to the regular 'Daily Show' mix comes from writer, Louisiana native, and Centenary College grad Josh Johnson. This week, Johnson is taking on some extra responsibility on the show, and it's going to be a really big deal.

The Daily Show Gets A New Host

Not only will Johnson be working on his normal writing duties, but Johnson announced today that he will be taking on hosting duties for the show. This will be his first time hosting the show...and as he said in his announcement, the first time he's ever hosted anything on TV.

Josh Johnson Has Been Working For The Daily Show For Almost A Decade

Johnson has been writing on 'The Daily Show' since 2017, and is credited with working on over 860 episodes. Before working on the Comedy Central show, he was a writer for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Over the last few years, Johnson has served as a Correspondent on 'The Daily Show', appearing on-camera in about 50 episodes. But being a Correspondent is not being the host. When you're behind the desk, you're leading the show. You do the monologue, carry the Correspondent segments, and conduct interviews.

This week, Johnson will get to take over the desk for the first time. He will host the show Tuesday through Thursday night.

Comedian Josh Johnson Is A Louisiana Native And Centenary College Graduate

Johnson is a Louisiana native; born in Alexandria, and went to college in Shreveport. Specifically, Centenary College, where Johnson earned his degree in Lighting Design. Johnson graduated Centenary in 2012.
